Capo Martino 2006 Jermann

Published by Wines Magic at 8:40 am under wine

Sandwiched next to the Slovenian border in the North East corner of Italy, Friuli has had a history of producing light aromatic white wines of immense drinkability but of little interest outside the region. Silvio Jermann has almost single handedly changed that. Silvio is widely considered to be a true 'artist' in the production of wines from his region, he is one of Friuli's top winemakers, producing small quantities of finely honed wines usually pre-sold on allocation. His style is to bring out floral aromas and piercing varietal character along with subtlety and elegance, resulting in very long wines with good ageing potential. Intensely aromatic with flavours of white flowers and citrus fruits, kept fresh with a delicious streak of acidity.
