Famous Types of Red Wine

Red wine has always been one of the most loved alcoholic beverages. The color of red wine is obtained due to its vinification process. The grape juice is allowed to ferment along with the skin of the black or red grapes. A process known as maceration imparts the bold red color of red wine. There are several varieties o f red wine available in the market. The most popular ones are:

Cabernet Franc - this wine is made from the grapes which are grown only in the region of Loire Valley of France. This wine is used as a blender in order to produce different varieties of wine.

Cabernet Sauvignon - probably the most popular wine that comes from the region Bordeaux of France. Its thick purple color and its intense aroma have enticed many wine lovers around the world.

Malbec - is obtained from grapes which are grown in regions of Argentina. It has a varying acidity level and its commonly used as a blender along with other wines from France.

Pinot Noir - the grapes used for this wine are grown in Burgundy, France. The grapes are difficult to grown but yield an excellent wine. The grapes are also grown in California but they are most commonly used to produce different varieties of champagne.

Zinfandel - it is obtained from grapes that thrive in the hot and humid climate of California. It has a spicy flavor and it is commonly blended with other grapes.

Sangiovese - a wine that is produced almost exclusively in Italy and its produced from grapes grown in Tuscany and Chianti. It has a complex aroma and flavor which make it very popular.

Nebbiolo - produced from grapes of Piedmont, Italy. It’s one of those wines that taste better when they age.

In order to experience the aroma and flavor of any red wine in proper way it is necessary to taste them from proper glassware. A red wine glass has a large bowl with a wide opening. This design specifically allows the person to dip their nose into the glass in order to smell the complex aromas released from the wine. There are many types of glassware available in the market but if you are looking for something special and sophisticated, then you can go for black wine glasses. These glasses are tinged black but have a clear stem. This gives a very elegant and unique look which will make an impression.
