For Me, Wine Is…
Ancient Chinese people have a say, ‘What can most effectively help us feel better when we are upset? Only wine can do that.’ Does wine just mean a ‘painkiller’ of soul? I admit that I am an alcoholic (but I never allow myself to get drunk), wine means a lot to me.
For many people, we drink when we feel unhappy. When I am depressed, I would drink some wine. I know that drinking cannot help tackle problems, but at least after drinking I won’t dig into the problems too much and I can have a good rest after drinking and to regain energy for a new day. This gives me more power to settle troubles and to work harder.
We drink when we feel excited. When we have things we want to celebrate, or when we are having parties, how can we not have a drink? Even if we don’t drink, we can still be very excited during these events, but I am quite sure that no one can doubt wine’s ability of boosting up the party to full swing!
Bravery comes, after we drink wine! Many actors in different types of movies drink before they fight, especially in Chinese films with involves martial arts. For many people, including me, when we are not brave enough to do something that we have no choice but to do it, we drink a bit to make ourselves be .brave・.
I have a very good example to share. My friend loves a handsome guy for a long period of time but she dared not to let him know. One day we went for happy hour and after drinking some wine, she was so brave to call the guy and let him know how much she adored him. Now they are going to get engaged soon! How lovely wine is!
Relaxing atmosphere can be easily created by wine. In many functions we can see wine there, for example, we drink a bit during cocktail interviews, cocktail receptions and speed dating. Wine can calm us down from our stress and help us make new friends easily. Next time if you are organizing friends-making events, don・t forget to get some wine!
Scholars and news groups always emphasize how harmful drinking is. No doubt, many crimes like speed-driving, wounding and raping are caused by severe intoxication, however, drinking wine is not equivalent to crime.
To drink does not necessarily mean to err, what matters is always the amount you drink. Never rely on alcohol, it can soothe your pain, but cannot cure your unhappiness. Drink wisely, act wisely.
