    Agreed. I use a food-safe bucket (Encore Plastics makes cheap buckets … and they are food grade plastics if white in color <-only applies to Encore brand) from Lowes with just a towel covering the must for the first 72 hours. I put an airlock on the bucket then let sit for another 48 hours, and then siphon into my secondary. This seems to work really well.

    Meh, not that informative, but no reason to say he is doing it wrong. Lot’s of people do primary fermenting in a bucket with no airlock.
