Meursault 1er Cru Blagny 2004 Domaine Martelet de Cherisey
From the tiny hamlet of Blagny on the border of Meursault and Puligny this superb domaine is producing traditional, concentrated and ageworthy wines from extremely old vines. Now starting to develop with a nose of buttered toast, oil and greengage this is a superb bottle of Chardonnay that could only be from one part of the world. The palate has a tension, breadth and complexity which make it a great food wine. Drink it over 4-5 years.
