The 2006 Emilio Moro was aged in French and American oak for 12 months. It has a superb bouquet of smoke, roasted herbs, scorched earth, and blackberry. Layered on the palate, it has tons of fruit, plenty of spice box notes, a firm structure, and 2-3 years of ageing potential.' 92 points - Robert Parker's [...]

Long acknowledged to be a great growth of the Languedoc. Profoundly deep in the glass, opening to reveal velvety dark berry fruit and violet aromas. On the palate there are plentiful fine but dense tannins providing the framework for dark Morello cherry and blackberry fruit, and more subtle smoky nuances.

The (relatively) cool climate of the Adelaide Hills and the deft touch of cousins Martin Shaw and Michael Hill Smith MW produce this decidedly European style of Shiraz. This wine has a full, smooth palate with blackberry flavours and cigar-box aromas. The name commemorates John Xavier Merriman (1841 - 1926), who purchased a farm in 1892 which later became Rustenberg Wines. He was the last prime minister of the Cape Colony before the formation of the Union of South Africa in 1910.
